Xi'An Street Catholic Church, Dalian

Our family attends the Saturday Vigil Mass at Xi-An Street Catholic Church
in downtown Dalian. (Wikipedia link here

The service is at 4 pm and we are happy to report that our neighbors two doors down from us attend as well! We also met two Intel workers from the Philippines there last Sunday, one single gentleman, and a family of four who is new to Dalian. We all went out to eat at the Brooklyn Bar afterwards - great pizza and sandwiches/chicken fingers - bar food, but a third floor that is kid friendly (we've blogged about this place before).

Last weekend I took some photos of the Church. The English service (with our Korean priest) is actually held in a room in the Parish Center hall, located inside the gates, but to the left of the main church. The service is in English, but the priest gives the homily first in English, then in Korean. Alex said that he sounds a whole lot more comfortable giving it in Korean - breathing an almost audible sigh of relief when he finishes the English version - and I have to agree. Still, it is very nice to have Mass in English, and we are so blessed to be part of this small, but great, community.

Last weekend was the first Sunday of the month, and our neighbors are instituting a fellowship gathering after that Sunday with snacks, so we'll bring some next time to share as well!

Don't the girls look cute in their semi-matching outfits for Church?
