In other news, this has been a nice relaxing weekend with no major plans. Alex read an article last week on Active days mean better bedtimes, which certainly seems common sense, but we have been following it more rigorously with Lucia this weekend. I also feel that with the AC in the house, it is easier to brave the hot outside. Yesterday we went to the condo (which we're planning to sell soon, more on that in upcoming blogs surely), the Farmer's Market, played with Mama's college Chemistry Set, ran around at the park, then to Trader Joe's for some shopping. Lucia took a 2.5 hour nap after all that.
Then today we went to Church, then to the park again, played some soccer at the park, and climbed around on the play structure "by myself!" After some carrots, chicken, and grapes, Lu is down again - hopefully for another hour at least. :-)
Here are some great photos and videos of our weekend. I'm so proud that our daughter is playing with the Chemistry set! She's following in her Mama's footsteps. And this soccer dribbling thing - it's incredible. She was doing more before Dada came with the video camera. My brother Ryan, Lucia's Godfather, is an awesome soccer player. That must be where she gets it from, because soccer was never my forte. Still, she was just laughing up a storm and loving it!

This is very funny - Lucia was standing behind me holding up her shirt for my belly picture this time. I didn't even realize it!

Lucia playing soccer!
Lucia walking down the spaced steps by herself (don't let my belly size fool you, I'm not even reaching my arms out at this point!):
The pic of Lucia's "baby bump" is so, so cute! The girls and I will be in Eugene next week (Aug. 10-20) and we'd love to see you. Any chance you'll be in town?
