A week ago Sunday we invited some friends over for a pizza party! Alex makes home-made pizza (crust, sauce, and all!) Milanese style (thin, cracker crust) - and it is DELICIOUS! Our neighbors were the recipients of one of our extra pizzas from Lucia's birthday, and wanted to know how he did it - and our other friends made home-made tacos (yes, shells and all!) for us several months ago now, so we wanted to reciprocate. We had a great time with the Barr and Blaes families - thanks so much for coming, guys!
Oh yeah, and we also got some of our very own fireworks that would be totally illegal in the US to cap our evening with a bang. Our four or five boxes of fireworks were pretty puny compared to the unending stream of Chinese fireworks, but hey - at least we participated.
Here is the Barr Family - also Oregonians:
And the Blaes Family:
Not to be outdone - Our Family (if you look close enough you can see pizza sauce smeared all over Magdalena's mouth!):
Julie Blaes getting in on the pizza making with Alex:
Outside in our bear hats waiting for fireworks (Magdalena was already in bed and slept through the whole show despite the fact that they were exploding right outside her window!):
One small box (I think it fell over):
One big firework - the only explosion picture I got:
Looks like fun and the pizza sounds delicious... but I think I'm most curious about those bear hats and the story behind them :) Looking forward to catching up again soon!
