We moved into Sunshine Mediterranean Sea (Yan Guan Di Zhong Hai) as the SECOND family here, the other being Chinese by heritage (born in Taiwan, we think) and having three high-school aged boys. Now we have two more sets of neighbors! Just next door to us is a family originally from Africa, through Intel by way of New Mexico. They have three kids, Juma is 10, Kenya is 8, and Niah is 4. And next to them is a man named James whose wife and three kids (also older) will arrive in a few weeks, once school is out in Arizona. As it turns out, James is Catholic, and we ran into him at the Catholic Church downtown when we went last weekend.
Last Thursday, Mimi (mother of JKN above) and the three kids, as well as a woman from Ireland, Sandra, and her two daughers Aoibhe (pronounced Eve) - 7, and Erin - 4, came over for a walk to the beach and lunch. I forgot to take pictures until the end, but here are the girls together after lunch:
