Yes, we did a nice road trip to Disneyland for Spring Break last month. We stopped in SF to see Alex's siblings and their families, as well as my cousin and his family. Those pics for another post! Here are the fun ones of Disney. Highlights were both Magdalena and JP going on Space Mountain (Lucia was still terrified from the time she went 2 years ago), all three older kids went on Big Thunder Mountain, and we all loved Pirates of the Caribbean - went on it twice! But I'd have to say that California Adventure stole the show this time. Thanks to Fast Pass and Rider Switch tickets, the kids each got to go on Radiator Springs Racers twice - once with Alex, once with me, and we went to Frozen Fun in the evening to miss all lines and really enjoy it. Alex and I both had the chance to ride California Screaming, the only upside-down roller coaster in both parks, and we all enjoyed a Crush Turtle Talk and meeting various characters.
This time we stayed off Disney resort at an accross-the-street "partner" hotel. That was actually a great way to go - quicker walk, still got the Magic Morning, less money, and bigger room; we had a suite with two rooms, two queen beds, a king bed, a pull out sofa (not used this trip), and the pack n play for Victoria. The kids all did great, except for JP having some sleep issues after our second park day, so we had a down day on Wednesday and went back to Disney at 7 am Thursday until 11:15, then packed up and headed out. All in all, a great success and we hope to go again in a year and a half or so.
Side note - the temperature was perfect Days 1-3 (high of 82, so just right to stay at the park until early afternoon - 2:30 Mon/Disney, 3:30 Tues/CA Adv) and still hit the pool later, then back in the evening. Wednesday walking on the strip between DL and the resort, lunch at Rain Forest Cafe. Thurs got hot - high 92, was already about 80 when we left at 11:15 am, glad that was our last day! Crowds not terrible; similar to our July trip in 2013. Spring break in OR, but not in CA or WA so could have been worse. :-)
